One Day at a Time

“The best way to predict the future is to create it.”

Peter Drucker

My journey of adding daily habits that will decide my future has continued.

A few weeks ago, I started doing something I had never done. I added a weight training class to daily practice and placed myself in the competent hands of a trainer.

It might be the best lifestyle decision I have made in a while.

I already feel lighter, stronger, and more fit. It has created a positive attitude, and my emotions are less erratic. I am more productive throughout the day. And I even feel more in tune spiritually.

There have been a couple of days when I woke up and thought, “Ugh, I have to go work out,” but for the most part, I look forward to the challenge and the camaraderie the class brings to my day. The benefits greatly outweighed the momentary lack of ‘want to,’ and exercise has become a habit I love.

Now, for another new habit.

As many of you know, our family lives in the high desert of Southern California and the hilly pastureland of central Oklahoma. My gym is in California. Next week we return to Oklahoma, and I will start my workout routine online. I am a bit nervous because I know myself and how well I exercise independently. It doesn’t usually happen. Here is where having a trainer is going to pay off. Accountability and feedback play an integral part in my success and my future. I can have this daily habit wherever the road leads me with in-person classes and online instruction.

I am looking forward to seeing the results. The future I dream of is in the details of daily habits. I am so glad I can take it one morning at a time.

Fitness Update:

Since starting the weight training, I have not lost any more weight despite carefully tracking everything I eat. The experts say muscle mass weighs more than fat. If that is the case, I’ll take it. Muscle looks so much better. I also found out I was low on vitamin D. One of the symptoms is weight loss resistance. I’m taking steps to rectify that with supplements and sunshine. Both are daily habit areas in which I struggle. Lol! I’ll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you have some encouragement from the words you have read.

Let nothing hold you back from creating the life you have always wanted.
